What Can I Post?

You can post a photo in one of the following categories:

Catch (of the fish)
Nature (photos of rivers, lakes, wildlife, or aquatic animals)
Fishing tackle
Ichthyology (interesting facts about fish species)
Ecological issues
Underwater photography
Photo taken during fishing (without a catch)

Catch & Release is not obligatory, but the photo must be taken outdoors, and the catch should be treated with respect. The catch must comply with all local fishing rules and regulations.

Please avoid posting photos of bloody fish.

If necessary, crop the photo to emphasize the catch.

Avoid posting blurry photos.

How Do I Post a Catch?

1. Click on Add Your Catch.
2. A pop-up window will appear. Click on the Upload Photo button and select a photo from your device.
3. You can edit the photo if you wish.
4. Click NEXT to move to the next step.
5. Here, you can select a category for your post and photo, as well as the date when the photo was taken. You can also select the fishing technique, rig, and, if applicable, the guiding company you used.
6. On the next step, you can tag the water where you took the photo. If the water spans multiple countries or continents, select the relevant country and continent as well.
7. In the next step, you can tag the fish species. As you type, the list will be organized so that the species from the selected basin or sea appear first, followed by those from the selected continent, and then all other species.
8. On the next step, you can tag your fishing gear. You can either select from your existing gear or add a new one.
9. In the description step, you can describe your photo or catch.
10. Click on PUBLISH to publish your catch.

What If I'm Not Sure What I Caught?

No worries! Just leave the fish species field blank, and others will help tag your catch.

What If the Fish Species is Missing from the Tag My Fish Database?

Upload your catch and write the local or Latin name of the fish in the description field or in the comments. We will review your catch, and if the species is missing, we will add it to the database and tag your catch accordingly.

What If the Water is Missing from the Tag My Fish Database?

Upload your catch and write the name of the water in the description field or comments. If possible, tag the drainage and country. We will add the missing water and tag it in your catch.

Can I Edit My Post?

Yes! You have 15 minutes to change the photo, water, fish species, etc. After that, you can only accept suggested changes to the fish species tag or wait for social intelligence to correct the tag for you.
