Description
Novumbra is a genus of mudminnows native to Oregon and Washington states, USA. Molecular data suggest that this genus is more closely related to Esox than Dallia and Umbra, so it is in the pike family (Esocidae), although some authors classified it under the family of mudminnows (Umbridae). Novumbra diverged from Esox roughly 65 million years ago in the Paleocene.
