Description
Northwest Pacific: Japan (from Kanagawa Prefecture and the Goto Islands southward), Taiwan, and the South China Sea. Max length: 8 cm TL Dorsal spines (total): 8; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9; Anal spines: 2; Anal soft rays: 8. Body depth high and each fin rounded. Occurs solitarily around boulders scattered on sandy and muddy bottoms in bays. Breeding occurs from July to September. Males brood eggs in the mouth.
