Description
The Dnieper chub or the Black Sea chub (Petroleuciscus borysthenicus) is a species of cyprinid fish from Eastern Europe. It is found in Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Turkey, and Ukraine. It lives up to eight years. Eurasia: Western, northern and eastern Black Sea and Sea of Azov basins, from Bulgaria clock-wise to Kizilirmak drainage in northern-central Turkey (missing in Don); Aegean Sea basin, from Strma drainage eastward in Europe; northwestern Turkey. In lower reaches of rivers and coastal lakes, but in Dniepr up to Seim and Desna systems. Max length : 40 cm TL; common length : 18 cm TL
