Description
Western Atlantic: Belize and Jamaica southward to Argentina Antilles, Central and South America. Max length: 45 cm TL; common length : 30 cm TL Dorsal spines (total): 9 - 10; Dorsal soft rays (total): 112; Anal spines: 1; Anal soft rays: 10 Found on sand or muddy bottoms of the continental and insular shelves. Occasionally occurs over reefs. Feeds on shrimps, crabs, other crustaceans and fishes.
