The lake is located southwest of Plattsmouth in Cass County, Nebraska. It covers an area of about 190 hectares. The main purpose of the lake is recreational, providing opportunities for fishing, boating, swimming, and camping. There are picnic areas, camping facilities, and leisure facilities around the lake. The lake is very popular among anglers, with fishing tournaments held from early March until November.
