Description
The Atibaia River is an important river in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. The Atibaia River originates in the Serra do Itapetinga, a mountain range near the city of Atibaia in the state of São Paulo. The river runs for approximately 100 kilometers (62 miles) from its source until it meets its confluence. The Atibaia River merges with the Jaguari River near the city of Paulínia, forming the Piracicaba River. Eventually, the Piracicaba River merges with the Tietê River, which ultimately flows into the Paraná River, contributing to the La Plata Basin.
